YouTube including Suggested Channels in the Suggested Videos sidebar?

I just spotted this... it might have been around for a bit, but I've never seen it before so I thought I'd post. Over in the suggested sidebar next to my videos is a channel who does similar content (Simon Tay)

It isn't 'stuck' there and on refresh it changes just like suggested videos.

I like this change. Anything to potentially increase my subscribers or channel visitors is awesome, especially when targeted at similar content to my own.

I have never seen this happen before, but it looks like a new feature that might actually help smaller channels get a little bit more exposure?

Hmmm, will have to see how this one works later down the track

Really? I find myself always looking at the suggested feed...

Plus i mean if I'd rather have one of my videos featured there or my channel, I'd pick my channel 10/10 times.

Yup... I've noticed in my small niche when someone else gets a shoutout, I will also 'feel' the increased traffic. So if they grow, I win too. Its not a competition, we're all in it together.

I really don't like this because there are YouTubers who 'borrow' content ideas and/or use my channel name in their tags just to siphon off viewers.
