YouTube has Ruined Everything

I've Got It
So I have noticed the last month that YouTube has ruined the graphics community for everyone. No more backgrounds, no more cool background speed arts, it's all gone, forever... Well until somebody gets somebody to complain and get like a million people to agree with him or her, then maybe we could bring it back. YouTube and Google has made us now use "Banners" similar to a Facebook cover photo or a twitter heading. I believe that it is stupid as hell. I mean why does YouTube do this? Why are they changing everything? Do they not like graphic artistry or backgrounds in general? Well anyway there's my rant for the day. So here's the question to all of you, is it even worth it to get a banner designed, do you like the banner idea and do you want the old backgrounds back?
 
Well in my opinion Youtube is a video site, not a graphic site. It doesn't really bug me because my background was just a tiled picture because I never took the time to make one. I look at the banner as a quick and simple way to put a brand at the top. I'm sure if you want to make backgrounds or graphics instead of focusing on the video part, there are probably sites where you can share them.
 
The hint is in the name, OneChannel layout, they want it to look the same on all devices, across all google accounts, and it looks sleek and professional, but there's a loss of personality to it.

See that's what I hate. They took the professionalism and personalization out of it.

Actually they added more to the professionalism really. Especially with all the new features When it come to personalizing that has been going down hill for a long time. Plus I think it pretty good. I mean sure you can't make a background and stuff, but the does not mean you can't make speed arts and stuff anymore. Just they will not be backgrounds they will be banners and avatars and stuff. Just a change really.
 
I as well prefer this layout over the other one. I've always wanted to have a banner, and the channel trailer is a really good idea as well. The playlists also have more room to show the entire thumbnail instead of it being shrunk down. Also, moving from a different part of the channel to another is MUCH quicker, and the comment section is better too.

It's not that bad when you think about it :)
 
I am trying to get used to the new layout. There's really not much we can do about it now! :(
