YouTube gun stunt gone wrong leaves boyfriend dead

The real mind-blowing part about this is that they owned this gun (and likely others) but had zero understanding of how insanely dangerous this was. How on Earth did they expect a book to stop one of the most powerful handguns ever made? Poor kids.

What does everyone else think?

Be mad/ upset at me all you want, but honestly, I think they deserved it if they weren't smart enough to respect the lethality of the weapon, and do their research.
Guns aren't anything to play with, especially powerful ones, and the .50 Caliber is enough to penetrate a steel plate.

If all of these things are true about the caliber being very powerful, then how did the book stop the bullet the first time he tried it out?

It would have been a fine video if they just shot the book on a firing range, I don't se anything wrong with that and it would also get some clicks

Also, I have a strong feeling that the wife WILL get jail time. Despite having 2 kids, if she walks then it sends a message that nothing's really wrong with this kind of stunt. But seeing someone in prison will show other copy cats what the consequences are.

That said , look up the term "personal fable"

This is the unfortunate side effect of what many have already touched on. The hunger for views and subscribers. Escalating things to the next level just so they can stay relevant. I personally hate the practice of anything that has to do with doing stupid stuff to gain views. This is beyond me. How would anyone think that a .50 AE would be stopped by a simple book is beyond me. I don't think they sell books thick enough.

This was extremely stupid. People really need to think about the future before they do things. Not just in this case, but there are a lot of people on youtube that are going to be embarrassed at what they did 5,10 or 15 years from now. Of course I'm sure I'll regret somethings in my videos, but I hope there is nothing in there that would cause me children to loose respect for me or cause me to be fired from a job in the future.

On top of that in the future there is a good chance youtube won't be as popular and doing extreme things for views/subscribers will seem foolish. Imagine if someone you knew told you they put up nude pictures of themselves 15 years ago, so they could get 100k friends on myspace. There is a good chance that youtube could be just like that.

Have you heard of that youtuber shooting (and killing!) her boyfriend as some kind of "prank video"?
How far would you go for views?

Yes! That is so sad! Apparently the girlfriend is going to be looking at jail time too! Its crazy what ideas people try to come up with for fame!

As for how far I would go? No clue! I'm a gaming channel so I guess the farthest I could go would be to spend mass amounts of money on ingame stuff?!

I think its important for the views to just find you and build it up as you go! Searching for that viral idea is not only nearly impossible but also could be dangerous unfortunately like that youtube couple!

Yeah I just thought that was so so sad , and that death really didn't need to happen. Also I think it was right in front of their young daughter, which is even more sad. I feel bad but at the same time , how can you be so stupid and shoot someone for views, when their only defense is holding a book, or at all? I don't think she deserves to go to jail though.
Ah yes it's really easy as a gaming channel to want to spend a lot of money on games, my side channel is for gaming and I keep wanting to get new games to try.
I also agree the best way to build up your channel is letting loyal people who are truly interested in your content find you
