What are the things that we should watch out for when trying to carve and grow our Youtube Channels? Spamming other people's content is an absolute No No for me, as is sub for sub

you don't do sub for subs? how about a you sub and I don't sub then? :D

I'm going to be honest, I saw you say something about sub 4 sub before, and I thought you were just kidding. Since you apparently have brought it up again, I'd just like to tell you a few reason why sub 4 sub isn't useful for anything besides making you look like you have a huge subscriber base.

  1. It only gains inactive subscribers.
  2. People don't care who you are or what you do, besides subscribing back.
  3. Makes honest YouTubers think less of you.

Seconded. I want people to sub because they like my content, not to be 'polite' per se. I do want to have a successful channel, but I want to do it what I consider it to be 'the right way' (for me). Again, you might not share the same opinion @hdaluz but that's okay, different strokes for different folks :)

You're right. I mean, besides not really helping your channel because views with good retention rates are better than subs. The feeling of gaining X amount of subs because of your own hard work and the fact that your subs are there because they actually like your content!.

thanks for the advice dino! although I was clearly joking but looking at your channel you have 420 subs but your average video has less than 200 views, some even less than 100, does that mean you're talking from experience?

Dude, not every sub will watch every video. It varies from video to video. I have yet to see a channel that has a 1:1 ratio of subscribers to views per video. A 5:1 is an achievement for most[DOUBLEPOST=1424408944,1424408877][/DOUBLEPOST]

Unless of course, most of the channel's videos are clickbait, then the game changes completely.

so if that's the case, you would need 1000 subs just to get 200 views normally? is that how your channel has 224 subs but less than 20 views a video?
