Youtube banner copyright question

Hi so I got a picture of a tiger from a computer background site and would like to put it in my youtube banner. On the site it is copyright protected (says you can only download it for personal use). if I mirror it, change its size, and change its brightness would it be ok to put on my banner? i am looking to become a partner and monetize my account if that matters.

Ususally, they won't be able to know if you did do that, but it can never hurt to alter it a little bit. Remember, everything's legal till you get caught XD! But that's not so much for pictures as it is for songs and videos, harder to alter those than it is for a picture, hope this helps and hope i didn't get you into trouble :)

Apprantly the copy right rules are the image has to have 10 differences to the original to be legal. I'd say leave it and use something else, will save hassle for you. If someone used one of my images I'd be more annoyed if they tried to change it!
