I've Got It
So before I go any further with my channel I'd like to know if I can switch it over to my daughter. Right now my youtube account is linked to my google+ account. I can't just give my daughter my google+ account because I need it or other things. Is there anything I can do? Can I change the email address specified in my youtube account to a different email address?

Each Google+ page has one owner; this owner applies to the connected YouTube channel. To transfer ownership of a channel connected to a Google+ page, you need to transfer ownership of the page itself. The person you transfer ownership to must be a manager of the page for at least two weeks.
  1. Only the current owner can transfer ownership. Sign in to the page owner Google Account.
  2. On YouTube, make sure you pick the right channel. Then go to the channel's account settings and click Add or remove managers.
  3. Click the dropdown arrow below the person's name and select Transfer ownership.

So you're talking about transferring ownership of my youtube channel to someone else? I basically want to keep my google+ account but give the youtube channel to my daughter. I would create a new google+ account for my daughter (using her email address). Then can I just go into youtube settings and specify this new email address? But you're talking about something different right?

Yes.

If you want to give her full access to the YouTube channel without giving up the channel on your end, you can make her a manager:

If a channel is linked to a Google+ page, then multiple people can manage the channel without sharing passwords. For someone to manage the YouTube channel, they must be listed as a manager of the linked page.
  1. Only the owner of the Google+ page can add or remove managers. Sign into the page owner Google Account.
  2. On YouTube, make sure you pick the right channel. Then go to the channel's account settings and click Add or remove managers.
  3. To add a manager, enter the email address of whoever you want to be a manager. Click Invite. Once they accept the invitation, they’ll then be able to access that channel from their own Google Account.
To remove a manager, find the manager you want to remove, and click the X by their name. They will no longer be able to access the channel from their Google Account.

I can't seem to find the channel's account settings. I found Channel settings.

My understanding is that you can not change ownership on a youtube channel only assign owner/managers on google+ and it only impacts google+ not the youtube channel associated with the google+

I wouldn't bother with the hassle. I would start another channel that is hers but maintain parental rights to monitor behaviors and communications.
