YouTube - A sweatshop?

Bit over the top to be honest...

Nobody on YouTube is forced to upload videos or be there at all.

"20 videos a day" Yea.. maybe she should stop that lol as she's only at 1 million views monthly so it quite obviously isn't working.

Quality > Quantity

Just checked out her channels a bit more and yeah, I thought that the videos might have less views than I would expect with the number of subscribers. Maybe it's quantity over quality here and she could do better with focusing on one or two channels and try to get more views on "better" videos. (Didn't watch the videos yet. Can't judge the quality). Maybe the subscriber numbers are inflated and not an active audience.

I like channels like SSoHPKC that defy the quality > quantity logic. But he wasnt forced into uploading loads of videos per day, it has just become part of his habit.

The comparison is a little overboard.

Hmm… 20 videos a week?? No way would I be able to produce that amount on content, not even if YouTube was my full time job. I do and probably always will view YouTube as a hobby. Something to do in my spare time. If I ever start earning money from it, then great! but I am not banking on that.

I also prefer channels that put on one good video a month for example, and not like 10-20 average/crappy ones.

That's 2 and a half videos a day! :o

The half can be calculated, such as uploading a "Part 1" video or something. But.. 20 videos a day is bit of an exaggeration. 80% of BIG channels upload once a day.

Yea but he is entirely different, firstly he makes more like 20 videos a day :D
And most are on new games, so they're great for SEO as they'll rank him really high in searches.

Olga hasn't been relevant in years. I've been on the site since 06 and she's never really been a "big player". Not to mention her playing video games isn't work. Why do these people try and steroid their work load? It's b******t.

She's makes between $100k - $130k a year with her channels, that seems relevant to me. Plus, when you have people to edit your videos for you and all that type of stuff I bet it's much easier to do something like 20 videos per week. So she's not a "big player" as you call it, but she cashing checks working from a her living room, and if she enjoying it too...win.
