I don't have windows movie maker?! I have windows7. I can't find it anywhere, I even tried the search option. Im pretty sure that I had it. I had to wipe my computer last year, but I never checked if I had movie maker because I didn't have youtube. Do you know any free alternatives? I don't want sony vegas because it is too complicated for me :s

Yeah I have windows 7 and it definitely has windows live movie maker. I was going to recommend sony vegas but I see you aren't a big fan. Just remember if you do decide to go with anything like that there is a ton of tutorials about how to use everything. I recently made the switch from movie maker to vegas about 3 months ago and have been blown away.

I think it's called windows live movie maker on windows 7, if not you could download it.

Well places like Cnet and stuff have downloads for Windows Live Move Maker and i believe that you may(?) download it for free from windows?

Sorry just noticed i was a little late XD

If you really want to you can learn it, but i dont really see the point. In my opinion a much better use of your time is learning to use vegas or after effects/premiere, Although more complex they are both very indepth and advanced programs that will make editing faster, easier and better :D

There's nothing wrong with starting with Windows Movie Maker (and nothing beats free). A lot of NLE systems are similar in workflow. I started with Pinnacle Studio years ago which came with a green muslin fabric and USB capture device for under $130 which was really basic but had some killer effects included, chromakey/green screen and handled only 2 video tracks and an overlay layer (I think). Once you learn the basics, those skills translate to Premiere Pro or Final Cut pretty easily when you're ready to move on.
