Why So Secretive?

Something I notice a lot on here, and ALWAYS wonder about is this: if you come here saying you have tens of thousands of subs, or a video with millions of views, why do you never, ever share the link or the channel address?

I mean surely if you're THAT popular, people already know who you are and... well, it shouldn't exactly be considered a secret, you know?

There are only two things that come to mind

1. You're lying
2. You consider yourself so important that you don't want to give info in case you get hounded by 'fans'

Neither of those reasons are good.

So what do you guys think? I get really tired of people coming on here moaning about something that 'only' got millions of views or 'only' having ten thousand subs in under a year. But they never, ever, ever give information!

My favorite is the kids that make 5 videos, one goes semi viral and then they complain about inconsistent views. Maybe, just MAYBE, it has something to do with I consistent content.
