Why partner with a network?

Hey there guys , im kind of curious on why anyone partners with a youtube network like maker, machinima etc. I know they give you tools etc but they dont really help you grow and they take a cut of your revenue. Is it only because of stopping copyright problems with say for example game videos?

If you make proper use of the tools that a network like Fullscreen gives then I could see a large potential for growth.

If you think they're going to get their biggest channel to shout you out and you'll get a million subs overnight then a network is not for you :)
