Why do the majority of the people on here barely have subscribers?

Oh!!! You meant the latter half of my post Stef I get it now. And I'm not saying in this thread anyone is SAYING that either, it's an attitude I've seen on the forum, it even used to be my own battle cry.

ok I'm not supposed to say this. And I try not to because I love this forum. But I... I have to get this out. This forum CAN hurt channels. For one thing, if all your subs are other vloggers then they're not just viewers, viewers are the ones who will go die hard for you to the point they'll wait and wait for your upload, here you get that alot less, people who have something they want to get seen are less likely to just want to see you. On top of that, the time we spend hanging out here is time we're not spending researchign how to promote and better our channels.

While this site has great info on it, there are things is just doesn't teach us, answers you never find. if we were spending our time reading the words of people who've made it and applying them, and joining other social media sites, we'd have a better chance. I love you guys I really do, but Ive seen this for a little while now, and it's not something I want to say or even know if I'm allowed to say. I'm not saying to not post on the forum, I'm just saying that like... we're fooling ourselves by thinking that being here is the way to get known on youtube. We need to limit our time here to a manageable fair amount, and spend the rest finding ways to get our voices heard and our channels seen.

By all means, when you discover something new, tell all of us about it so we can benefit. But we've gotten so lost in our enjoyment of the social aspect of this awesome crazy loving forum, that I think we've forgotten to look for ways to grow our channels. I'm sorry if this is... strange for me of all people to say being a top poster but I just... firmly believe it's truth. Don't put all your eggs in the yttalk basket, but please, don't leave the basket either :)

Symph, you know I despise GIFs. This warrants an exception!

I wasn't referring to anyone else. I was referring to the advice I was making in my own post.

Right. But, in your post you insinuated that people were saying posting on YTtalk was the solution to growing their channel. The response was mainly YTtalk isn't the tool that should be used for promotion, etc. as it's more about building relationships and learning along the way.

It goes without saying that spending less time on a forum will correlate into your channel growing or just improving in general.

Oh! nevermind

That was very well put Lol now I'm really done :)

we're a forum that kind of fell in love with each other LOL We just, found we had such similar senses of humor and we loved each other's content, so we have this tendency (many of us not all) to just stick here and trust that video in the sig will get the job done. But I for one and I'm certain others as well have tended to put too much faith in that, and stop searching for outside methods to promote like we should. But the thing is, this place is STILL a close bonded community that can help each other, when one member discovers something helpful, they can come here and share it, we could start making our own tutorial of what works and what doesn't based on member experience, it's just not something too many of us do at this time. I'm going to work to find what works for me, and it's why I've been posting less than I used to.[DOUBLEPOST=1373610720,1373610666][/DOUBLEPOST]

thanks bro bro :)

However your 'People get angry when you mention they have no subs' post remains a hot mess.

I actually somewhat concur.... I don't think you can make a blanket statement about everyone on this forum in that regard, nor do I think this thread houses anyone who has that issue... but I've seen it happen on the forum... kind of a... jealous... or... defensive reaction to the insinuation a channel could/should be doing better...

As usual, you say what I intended to say, the way I intended it. Words. I no good use them!

You don't deserve your prize anymore.

ps: I'm half kidding.

Well, suggesting a channel could be doing better is less offensive than what was actually said/what he actually meant by his post. I would imagine people would just be more annoyed than 'upset'. Anyway...
