I totally agree.

The video fundraiser was so wrong on so many levels:

1) They tried to justify it by saying the game is free, trying to make themselves out to be nice guys for giving away a game.. Well, if their intentions are to give something away for free to their fans, then why are they asking those same fans to pay for it ?! It's not free because the fans are paying for it!
2) The game is free, but their project is 100% a commercial venture. - The game is entirely about growing the smosh brand, driving yet more traffic to their channels and increasing ad revenue. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with any of that IF they weren't being dishonest about their intentions for the game in the first place and if they were funding it themselves.
3)They were asking for $250k to fund the game, with 10% going to charity. lol So now they're trying to get on the charity bandwagon and pretend they are taking money from their own pocket and giving it to charity. No they are begging for money to fund their commercial projects and playing the charity card to make it seem they are such nice guys.
4)What happens when they receive more donations than the $250k required? No-one knows, but there is no way for them to return donations and no accounts have been published afaik.
5)Even when they were called out on all this, they still went ahead and did it lol. It would be like McDonalds asking their customers to fund the research into the next Big Mac that will be making McDonalds millions over the next few years......
