Which editing software do you recommend?

I posted a thread earlier about what mic is good and I started thinking about which editing software is good. I've heard that sony vegas isn't as good as said but I wanna find out if that is true. I don't really mind about the price because i'm just curious about how good they are - quality wise and user friendly wise.

I hear great things about Sony Vegas, so I"m not sure where you've heard these criticisms. Then again I don't really know much about this stuff, so I probably shouldn't run my mouth.

Adobe CS5.5 Creative Suite. Soon I will have CS6. It's complete everything in editing. Special effects, colour correction, motion graphics, audio cleanup and editing, and pretty much everything else you can imaging or need.

Sony Vegas is great but has way too many issues with codecs crashing etc for me, so sadly I'll have to go with Premiere.
After Effects is for special effects etc, so its kind of a different tool
