Where's the batch tagging?

ToxicSludge

I Love YTtalk
I used to be able to select a video in the video manager and apply a number of tags that I have used previously, which was a huge time saver.

Unless I'm blind, I can't find it any more...did they move it, or get rid of it altogether?

In the new Creator Studio is in the "Channel" settings, at the voice "Upload Defaults"

In video manager select the videos you want
click on the top "Actions"
choose "more actions"
choose "tags"

I think this is the one you are looking for.

PS. Also note that with this function you can both batch add but also batch remove tags!

Thanks, but that's not what I meant.

There used to be a check box on the video manager where you could tick each used keyword or add new ones, which is now gone.

The Creator Studio also has a "tag" section, IDK if it is what you are referring to.

He's not refering to that, there used to be a button in video manager where you could see all the tags you had previously used and assign them to videos. Instead of having to remember which tags were used.

That being said, I just use a word document for each series I make and I have the tags at the bottom. The only way to add bulk tags or append tags now is via the methods listed above. I think the reason YouTube got rid of it was because it never worked too well, at least not for me. They are making updates to the playlist feature with suggestions of possible default settings for playlists, including tags but until they say more, I'd recommend just using a word doc in future if it's for a series so you can just copy descriptions & tags straight in and even have a template description document set up that has things like your social media links instead of having to type them everytime.
