Where is best to buy a new camera?

Hey guys, I'm just wondering where the best places are to buy cameras in the UK. I mean they are really really cheap on ebay but I'm not sure if that's a good idea, like if it turns up and doesn't work or something? Same with argos, I think its quite hard to return things to there if they break. I did have one from curry's a few years ago and they replaced it as soon as I took it in and said it wasn't working, but most curry's have disappeared now! Any ideas? I do have a little camera shop near me but I'm thinking that'll be an expensive way to go! Thanks :)
 
best buy XD. truth be told do all your research on line! when i was in the uk i i went to bath and i found this little camera shop in bath that was sweet! but in all honesty research online for a great camera in your budget range and go from there.
 
I got my camera from PC World/Currys only a few weeks ago, theres still loads of stores around as far as I know. I wouldn't trust Ebay as their often foreign imports which then recieve import tax, and if its wrong then you pay to send it back. Buying from online UK stores though is also good, like Amazon.co.uk have worked fine and there returns are great...

PC World/Currys or Amazon imo :)

awesome buy it local! that way it's easier if you need warranty exchange or if one of the micro parts inside is defective. what camera are you thinking about :D?
 
From what i know from my dad.. and looking around myself.. you can look in big shops where you have lots of choices, but sometimes,, you find small camera shop and they sell cameras for 50% cheaper... give you extras and so on, as they are not bound to sell there items like at best buy , or any other big electronic shop :D take you luck! ( got my cannon 300 euro cheaper LOL)
 
might not wanna go with the really cheap cameras .. it might be a lot more fragile and if there are software issues; that's because they're cheap. Rather than using a digital camera, id just use your phone if its in hd. Other than that if you want semi-pro quality some dslr's like Canon 60D or one of the cameras in the Sony Alpha A-** series might be good for videos (great tracking)
