When People Cheat Subscribers

Usually I just ignore them!

It's ridiculous really, i've seen several channels in the last few days with like 700 - 1500 subscribers and anything from 300 - 1500 views. My gosh ayy!

In a small sense I have done sub4sub, though it isn't always blatant. for example, I make Far cry 4 videos, I type 'far cry 4' in the search on youtube, filter for 'newest' , then I watch people's content, and after a while of supporting their channel and staying active, I would say ' hey! I just posted a vid this morning, would you mind taking a look?'

I do this less commonly as I have grown as a channel, but it is a good way to build a small following of dedicated subs to kickstart my channel. Now I get around 100 views on each video and 15-20 likes!

Hope this helped to give you a different perspective!

That's not sub4sub in the same sense. You are actively watching their videos and providing support for them. Asking them to view your videos (as long as it isn't spamming) is perfectly fine. The sub4sub I'm referring to is the nasty kind :P

I don't think you ever do sub4sub or even shoutout series that are based on people subscribing to you. All it does is inflate your subscribers and leave you with inactive subs. All you have to do is look at someone's sub base to view ratio.

You're right, I can usually tell when I see that someone's sub to view ratio is way off. When I've been seeing people from the forums doing it, especially the one's I've been talking to, I lose a little respect for that person.

lol :D Awesome response

There was this girl I know who went around popular videos asking in the comments for 'YouTube Friends' which basically means sub for sub and her sub count went up by over a 100 and I was so close to calling her out for it.
Sub4sub is awful and I don't think it does anyone any good...

I've been close to calling certain people out for it but decided to leave it and let them figure it out on their own. I just can't help but feel annoyed that they are abusing the system everyone else is sticking to. And when you have got to know that person I feel a little insulted and any sort of connection you've built with that person just feels pointless. Like their motives were never genuine.

I think if there's anyone they're cheating, it's themselves. It must make them feel so bad when they have a load of subscribers yet their video's are still only getting a few views or worse is if they buy the views and their view/like ratio is really high/low.

I might raise an eyebrow at it... they have their reasons. It won't help them in the long run. I don't like it.. but if I enjoy their content whatever. I'll stay subbed. Though I don't think any of the people I'm subscribed to do that. Who knows though.

I think that people who do sub4sub are pretty stupid. a number doesn't mean much if no one interacts with you! the best part of youtube in my opinion is when I get an email saying 'your video is uploaded' and you come back in an hour and you have 7 likes already! :D

You can always tell one of these when they have a couple thousand, maybe more, subscribers and only a few hundred views per video!
I don't really mind it that much, Subscribers are just a number, its the 'views' and comments that really count because its a community!

It sucks, but people will always do it. May look like I have done it, but really I have a lot of inactive subs cause I left for a few months *sad face*. I love interaction, so buying subs or sub4sub isnt me. Collabs would be nice though. The people who do these underhanded tactics won't last long on Youtube, and if they do, they won't be having much fun.

As a New Yorker I have learned pretty early on not to really care/concern myself much with other people's decisions which have no impact on myself, so with that being said it doesn't really move me either way. With that being said in my honest opinion it does seem a little desperate or as if there may be a self-confidence issue that they feel so desperate to just meet this imaginary quota in their head rather then just letting people sub, follow, etc naturally. Personally I wouldn't be able to feel content knowing that i'm buying followers/subscribers but that's just me.

it means literally nothing... if they want to buy subs then let them, they get no views so it doesnt matter lol. At the end of the month the have made zero dollars, have zero comments, and zero views. Their subs are pretty much a decoration, like part of the banner lol.
