Whats Your Opinion on Clickbait?

Clickbait thumbnails is key for views even though it is deceiving. I mean just don't put anything that is off the topic. Put something attracting to the eyes. Everybody knows they click on videos based on the captivating thumbnails haha!!
 
I won't blame them. It seems like part of the competitiveness, just as long as theres some truth behind the title.
 
Pointlessblog always does clickbait titles and it honestly is making me want to unsubscribe. If it actually is talked about in the video fine... But have something that you know your audience whats to know / see and it not be covered is just abusing your audience.[DOUBLEPOST=1476122290,1476101700][/DOUBLEPOST]So Marcus Butler just posted a video about "Why he wants to quit YouTube." I'll save you all the time, he doesn't want to quit. It was a joke. Makes me annoyed. It's like he had no idea what kind of video to make, and he knew his subscribers / non-subs would watch ... to see nothing to do with the title.

haha! I see what you did there.

I think it's a clever way to get views so long as it relates to the content and its GOOD content.
I find it offensive if its baiting you to believe you are watching something when really its something else like a snuff film or something.

It boarders a fine line between coming across as quite cunning, and coming across as a d**k lol

So it really depends
 
It depends....sometime it's OK...but it's not going to work if you do spam...like your video title is about playing GTA V,when your video is about playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Just for an example)....I mean you can't spam right :)
 
It annoys the hell out of me. Leafy does it all the time and I've gotten so fed up with it I don't even watch his videos anymore.
 
I usually ignore them, so they get the opposite result from me. Especially the obvious ones with boobs in the thumbnails. I especially like the ones that are like 'epic news reporter fails' or whatever that looks like some hot news reporter suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the air, while the video is just normal bloopers or them tripping and falling or whatnot, most of the time the girl on the thumbnail not even being part of the montage.
