Whats more important Quality or Quantity

As a beginner I think that quality is what can capture your audience first and should be the prime focus. That being said you should be able to at least put out 1 or 2 videos a week. Maybe even 3 depending on your content. Pretty much as everyone else has said, gaming, you could probably do for 3 a week, animation, 1 a week.
However life gets in the way and we all (for the most part) have school and/or other jobs that keep us from it sometimes so that's why I can only do one video a week. My main filming days are Wednesday-Friday in the mornings so you best believe I'm filming all morning.

Like with gaming it's hard to take seriously if there isn't at least 1 video a day.
While you may feel this way, as a whole I would say that this isn't true. Sure there are a lot of large gaming youtubers out there that do post daily, but there are plenty that post a couple times a week or even less and still do extremely well. Some examples being AngryJoeShow, Ahoy, Joseph Anderson (who has recently began blowing up), videogamedunkey, Protatomonster and plenty of others. Gaming in itself is a huge genre so there are so many micro-genres that some do better with daily posts, some with weekly, some with monthly. There is a ton of variance.

I, myself, have found that when I used to do 4-5 videos per week I would get moderate reception but as soon as I dropped to 2 videos per week and really increased my quality I've seen the growth become much better.

Well even in gaming there's different sub-categories. I've seen some of dunkey's videos and he's heavily personality based, not so much "game" based. From what I've seen anyways, I have not dug through his entire channel. People like that work well on a less frequent schedule, but just playing a game with less "specific" personality traits and not uploading frequently can easily bore people ( again the ones I do watch that play episodic series yet upload on a 2-3x weekly schedule are far from top content creators in my book because they lack that energy that daily uploaders have) but that's just me anyways.

I don't think anyone will disagree that it can depend greatly on a person to person basis, but at least statistically speaking for the majority of pure gaming content playing series upon series daily is best.

If we're talking primarily lets plays then sure - those are a daily-focused type of video. Gaming videos in general, though, can run the gamut.

It's all about supply and demand so it really depends on your niche. If it's very competitive, quality is more important if you want to get noticed. But if the niche is popular yet the competition is small, then quantity can be more important. I've seen competitors of mine producing lesser quality videos grow faster than me due to their volume.

Honestly I think its quality in all cases especially when your starting out on Youtube because if your videos are good but they are not great then no one will subscribe even if you are posting videos daily while if you make a couple great videos a week or every other week people with want to see more and they will subscribe and wait for more of your content. Quality is key if you have a small channel as you grow bigger your audience will probably want more quantity.

Whenever I make youtube videos one thing that comes to mind is Quality Or Quantity. Is it more effective to make 1 really good video every week or 2 or posting 3 to 4 times a week by putting less time in your videos. What way to a successful youtube channel is more effective
Quality. Releasing 60 videos in a day is good and all but if they aren't that good then no one will watch them

Quality > Quantity. When you get bigger you can push out more quantity but still need quality no matter what.

It sort of depends on your market. If you have demand for a certain game or subscribers who want to watch certain content you can often put out quite a few videos without anyone feeling overwhelmed. I think you still want to make sure you have particular videos that are quality for sure, but quantity isn't always a bad thing as long as the quality is "decent" and there is demand for that content it can really grow your channel faster in certain situations.

Sometimes the popularity of a topic is time sensitive and maybe you have a lot of good ideas for videos, so it could be good to try and make them while people are searching for it.

I think when you start out a new youtuber, quality matters the most. Just think about it, why would somebody subscribe if they find no substance in your videos? Youtube is a very competitive place, and quality is a way to stay on top of your game. Atleast that is what I feel :)
