I'm thinking about making videos on Xbox One gameplay with whatever game I feel like playing at the time really. I currently have..

The Elgato HD60 Capture Card
Xbox One
Alienware 15 Laptop
Turtlebeach PX22 (For microphone)
Polk Audio 4Shot (For game / voice audio)

I'd obviously use the HD60 Capture Card to record gameplay, and use the HD60 Pro software to save the video in HD. Should I then upload straight to YouTube or is there maybe a good editing software for a cheap price if not free to be able to do basic editing?

Basically want your opinions on my gear and whether or not I'm good to go with videos.

These are the programs I use for editing or anything on my videos (Not including HD PVRS when needed)
I use
Adobe Premiere CS6
Adobe After Effects CC
Macromedia Flash CS6
Audacity
and the online site Pixlr if I need to make my picture transparent.

For a free software I don't know, there a pretty big youtubers that still use Windows Movie Maker (videogamedunkey is one) if that helps at all.

and you have a better set up then me man, so I would say pretty good!

Cheers dude.

I'm really not a huge fan of Adobe products, I disliked them all in school.

But thanks none the less!

Oh no problem! I used to make small flash animations on Newgrounds a few years back and the programs are all so similar that it was easy for me

I hope you find what you're looking for!

Personally I use Sony Vegas 13 so I would recommend that but there a bunch of others that a great that others have mentioned such as Adobe Premier.

I would definitely take a look at Sony Vegas editing software. If I remember correctly, there are a few version of Sony Vegas at different (affordable) price points. I know a few of my favorite gamers use Sony Vegas and I sure do love their videos! I would say that your gear is pretty dang good as a starting place. Your first upgrade would probably need to be in the audio department, but your headset makes for a great starting place! I'd download Audacity to enhance your mic quality. There are a lot of great Audacity tutorials on YouTube that will teach you how to make your mic sound like you paid big bucks for it.

Hope that helps! :)

I think your pretty good to go in terms of video capture and hardware, but as always you need good editing software

I mainly use

-Sony Vegas Pro 13
-Adobe Photoshop cc 2015 (for custom thumbnails)
-Audacity
-Adobe After Effects cc 2014
-Cinema 4D (intros)

all of these a quiet expensive in my eyes but there are other means of getting these softwares ;]
