I Love YTtalk
Hello everyone, to thoose who don't know me I've posted here every now and then, and written a few guides on this and that. Even though I by no stretch of the imagination am I an expert on Youtube, however I've been on there a few years, and it's become my full-time job to make videos there. I have extensive knowledge on most subjects, ranging from growth, to branding, or analytics analyzation.

I'd like to share whatever knowledge I can, so if it's something I haven't covered already feel free to suggest it.
Theese are the ropics I've covered so far in "guides" on this forum:

You did a fantastic AMA not too long ago didn't you? Look forward to this thread, I hope it gets the attention it deserves! What do you think is the most important social media outlet to advertise/grow your channel?

Also, what do you think is the best thing to invest in for quality to start your channel? I'm looking for a decent mic right now!

Well first of all thanks, I was very surprised to see my AmA go to #1 on the subreddit, they were a ton of friendly people and it was very different from frontpaging /r/leagueoflegends.
Secondly, at least in my experience, there's no specific social media which you can turn to and just get a ton of traffic from, however Twitter/Facebook/Reddit have helped me the most, and I believe they are key to a viral video.

As for your third question I think it depends entirely on your channel, hell I did gaming and for me it was a good computer. If you're a vlogger it might be a camera, if you're into sm it might be a good whip. It's subjective and hard to answer, but basically anything that will immediately increase production value.

I don't think I could do an entire thread on theese subjects, but I hope I was able to answer them to your pleasing ^^

Absolutely :) You're always helpful in the community and it's been refreshing to get some answers from someone who has a significant subscriber base.

Second question, how do you deal with the criticism on the methods you used to increase your viewer count? I saw you said that thumbnails definitely helped out, even though those methods tend to be looked down on. Is there any other things like that, which are crucial for a channel? ie - Proper tags, variety of content, and interesting titles? (Without being too misleading)

Well dealing with critisism isn't the issue, it's whether or not you morally accept what you are doing. For example I get a lot of bonus traffic by using misleading thumbnails, however before doing this I decided with myself that I was morally ok with doing it, and that if the people that came to my videos stayed and enjoyed them regardless of why they clicked, I didn't mind having a misleading thumbnail.

The critisism I get a lot is that with the thumbnails I have I "objectify women", and while this is true to some degree, I'm ok with that, because I don't just objectify women, I also objectify men, I don't discriminate. I've decided that I don't wanna have to beat around the bush with my internet persona, and that I really don't wanna have to worry about what I do or make.

As for tagging I just try to use stuff that's as relevant as possible, to my understanding tagging doesn't affect searches or videos suggested on the Youtube frontpage, but only sidebar videos on other videos. I do however make sure to include the title of the video in the description, key words such as "ad ___ champion" and so on, because titles and descriptions DO affect searches.

Interesting! Thanks again for doing this, Uber. I also appreciate that you didn't take that post as trying to degrade you in any way, as it wasn't!

Personally I stand the same way that you do on that scenario, as long as the content is relevant, why not capitalize on the situation.

That's all I have for now, I just hope more people take advantage of this. Oh, I guess I should ask, what recording/editing software do you use?

I edit with Sony Vegas pro 12, and After effects cs6, I also use Photoshop cs6 to photoshop certaint stuff that I can't mask in Vegas/AE. And I record with Bandicam.

If you have a type of content that's most watched by your subs should you just try to make more of the same content or branch out?

Also what video are you working on next? :3

Well continuing doing what people like is a surefire way to get good exponential growth, I'd say try to maintain that and branch out slowly, then keep the stuff people like, and discard the stuff people don't want in your videos.

Oh and Full AP Zac is next, finishing it before I'm flying out to pax east in 5 days ;P
