Probably because people don't listen to K-Pop, but all it takes is some good promotion and a dance fad, and it can basically take over, I think the dance made it, in all honestly, it was just so strange, people loved it.

if youtube existed when all the other dances were still popular like...(dare i say it) the Macarena those would easily be Viral videos...mostly cause it's something almost anyone can do Much like the gangnam style dance...so people make these videos of them dancing and other people watch..then they get curious as to what started it all find the source material and yeah.....
