What was the beginning like for you?

I started September 10th of this year. It's sloooow. Maybe in time I guess. As for tech issues I still have them, the headset I have makes the sound kind of low compared to other videos, so you have to turn the sound up. Not a big deal I guess.

What was it like for you at the start of your channel?

I'd wanted to start a channel for ages after having a conversation with a guy I thought was cool at a party about Youtube (That guy went on to be one of those prominent Youtube abusers so he definitely wasn't cool) I kept giving myself reasons to not do it every month - this process lasted years. Eventually I just decided I didn't care what people think of me very much.

Did you get discouraged at all?

Probably not as much as I should - I post some divisive videos and rack up quite a lot of dislikes - I'm just happy they watched.

Any tech issues you had?

Learning the basics of video editing has been fairly hard - and I'm still using Imovie.

Worries? Dreams? etc.

My sole ambition as a Youtuber was really to promote myself as a musician - but I've found I really enjoy the vlogging aspect of it too - I guess I'm worried that the mix of different content will confuse people. I'm also worried of nobody watching at all. My dream would be to have a couple of thousand interested subscribers - a modest ambition.

What was it like when you made your first video?
This was back in August - I already find it totally unwatchable. I seem fairly wooden to how I am now.

What was it like for you at the start of your channel?
I didn't really have any serious aim with it, it was just a place for me to post my animations as thats what I enjoy doing. In a lot of ways I still don't, I don't have any long term serious Youtube game plan, I just make what I enjoy, which may be at the cost of isolating parts of my audience who aren't into all the same stuff I am. Even after a year at it I still feel like I'm at the beginning. Not a bad thing though, I feel a lot more experienced.

Did you get discouraged at all?
Yep. Is my content even good? My thoughts on that change with my mood, and every negative comment does 10x more damage than any compliment good. It shouldn't, and that's not easy to remember.

Any tech issues you had?
So many. I work in Adobe Flash, what video DOESN'T have tech issues??

Worries? Dreams? etc.
Well, my dreams are out there and unrealistic, the YouTube dream of having thousands of people follow my content to the point where its my full time job. Don't lie, we all have that dream in us! Just maybe, the next video will be a breakaway hit. I worry I won't be able to have the time to make the stuff I want to.

What was it like when you made your first video?

Terrifying. That moment between when you post it and when anyone sees it is exciting and horrible. Makes it all worth it when the video does well. But I was so proud of it that it's hard to be completely negative!

It was cool and frustrating at the same time specially with the editing and learning all of this takes time and couple mistakes here and there. I still need to improve but love all the process related to uploading videos and I will keep on doing this at least for now

What was it like for you at the start of your channel? Kinda tough and slow at first. Took a while to get the editting and filming and whatnot down.
Did you get discouraged at all? A bit, no one I knew wanted to really see the videos, but luckily eventually I got a small fanbase.
Any tech issues you had? The first house in Mexico was damned dark. We couldn't get or afford lighting and such. All we could do was lighten up the image in Movie Maker. And of course... that rickety camera with the purple bar on top of the screen. And when that sucker ran out of batteries we had to run out in the middle of the night to get more, LOL
Worries? Dreams? etc. Worried noone would like it. I'm glad some people did. Usual delusions of grandeur I'm sure we all get, of being popular, famous and recognized in the street. People wanting our autographs, all that.
What was it like when you made your first video? Exciting and anxious to get it online and curious if people would watch and comment. To this day the first VGM episode was very informative and well editted. I know the history of classic SF2 like the back of my hand.

When I first started my channel I was really excited because I had """big plans""" for it (and by that I mean I just wanted to get noticed hopefully). I created my channel (I already had a channel but I wanted a new one to start out with for this) on I think April 23rd, 2013 and I remember being really confused as to what to use as the user name. I wanted to be a youtuber because it was simple and fun and just a really amazing career to have in my opinion.
When I first started my channel and started making videos, I obviously wasn't expecting to get hundreds of views or subscribers right away, but I did hope to get at least some people to notice me (which they did, but very gradually). I got a little discouraged when I was making my first video because I thought I had to look a certain way to be a youtuber, and I didn't like how I looked on camera (looking back on it now I look fine though, and I look completely different now anyway).
The only issues I had were aspect proportions and sound problems. I use Windows Movie Maker because it's free and simple and one of the few free options for editing software for windows, but the problem with that is that it does lower the quality of my videos a little. When I got my first real camera (before that I was using an ipad) and edited it with WMM it either put a big black border all the way around my videos or squeezed them from 16:9 to 4:3 which made it look really distorted (but it only did that after I uploaded them to youtube. When I played them back on my laptop they were normal). I recently found out that by adding certain tags to the video depending on the aspect problem, it would fix it, but only when someone was watching on PC. On mobile it was still messed up. But eventually I found out how to fix it in WMM's settings, so my most recent video doesn't have any problem with it. WMM also has recently started distorting the sound of my videos (like when I say words with an "s" in them, it emphasizes the "sss" sound and makes it sharp and kind of mechanic sounding. Same with some other sounds too. It also plays back normal-sounding on my laptop but once its on the timeline in WMM it distorts sound), and I still haven't found out how or why, but I recently got a new camera with an external mic to see if that would help. It's only started doing that in my recent videos and I just got a new laptop and reinstalled WMM so it may have been fixed by redownloading it.
The only worry I have is that my videos aren't good. As for dreams, I want to get 10,000 subscribers at least. I'd be more than happy if I just got a couple thousand (atm I have 200).
When I made my first video I hadn't planned anything to say so it was kind of a mess. Not to mention I spent about a half hour trying to decide what to wear in it (eventually I just got so frustrated I turned the camera off and I was about to give up, but then I just put on normal clothes and stood there and winged it, and it turned out decent in the end). It was a really short video because of me not knowing what to say or do but it turned out okay.

Wow I've typed way too much. I'm sorry xD
