Honestly, investing in a lav/lapel mic has been the best for me - I've played with a few shotgun mics, but no matter what I do, I end up with far too much echo.

I'd prefer not to have to wear one, but it's not too much of a pain to record into the H1 and sync stuff up in post.

I am so lazy (really busy), I didn't want to use the H1 and sync it up in post! But... I need to sound like I am not in a freaking cave!

Haha, I know the feeling - it's why I played around with a few shotguns. Bt ultimately, it's about 10 minutes for me to go through and create composite clips - not a huge time sink. Annoying, but it's better audio than I can come up with otherwise.

Sold!!! I will do it!

Shure SM7B microphone, Behringer 12 channel mixing board, various other $50-$100 mics, Adobe CS6.

I only have a Sony HandyCam (HDR-CX130). I've been pretty happy with the video and audio quality from it. When I move into our new house, I hope to set up a little "studio" where I can keep my tripods up 24/7, and maybe add a 2nd camera so I can do multiple angles on my vlogs. I'll probably also invest in a couple of light boxes as well (currently I only use natural light coming in from a window).

I bought today Zoom H4N and Sennheiser EW 112P G3-B...
