What is your creative process?

I make music and this is usually how it goes.

1a. I open Cubase and my orchestral template. And I start playing around a little with the instruments. Trying to come up with some good melody or chord progression or whatever. I just need something to start with, and then I can build on that.

1b. Sometimes I already have an idea before I even open Cubase. Maybe I just came up with a cool melody while doing something else. Maybe I came up with some cool ostinato/riff (or whatever you wanna call it) or something.

2. I work my butt off for a couple of days...

3. I make some graphics and a thumbnail using GIMP. Then I use a program called "Sonic Candle" to get a cool soundwave effect. And then I use Movie Maker to edit...lol. I honestly don't need anything better right now.

4. I upload my stuff to YouTube. Sometimes I also upload it to Soundcloud. And Mediafire if it's royalty free.

i carry around mini notebooks all the time, and when i get an idea I scribble down jokes, lines, story ideas, sometimes rough comics to illustrate the idea.
because i always seem to get ideas on the bus, or when im otherwise away from my computer.
So It's handy to have !

the actual animating and editing is what you'd expect, 10+ hours a day of the same old. editing I use After Effects (yeah I know kill me, ive got nothing better)
but it's only used to put the main clips together (around 3 - 6 usually) and then re add the lines/music and SFX so they can be exported is nice quality instead of straight out of flash.

1- Read lots of different forums and listen to podcasts to see if anything new and interesting is happening in the world of video games.

2- After getting an idea, type up a rough draft script of how I want the video to go. (mine are really small, more just to get an idea of how the flow should go).

3- Recording. First, figure out the best setup, then record whatever I wanna say or do. Usually OBS for desktop recording, but I also use Windows Voice Recorder for the mic.

4- Editing. Adobe Premiere is the only piece of software I use. Vocal Enhancements, altering speeds, zoom, coloring, etc.

5- Review the video. Is it good? Watch the entire thing to find any issues.

6- Exporting. This part takes about less than 30 minutes. Making sure to select the best quality settings.

7- Uploading to YouTube. While it's uploading I work on the thumbnail, description, tags, titles, etc.

I'm in the fitness industry and work with clients everyday. They always have great questions that I sometimes turn into videos. Even then, I'm always thinking fitness and reading about fitness anyway. Like @sanitary103 said (as well as the awesome Gary Vaynerchuck), when you're passionate for something, the subject matter just flows. It's impossible to not have a video idea for me; It's more so whether I want to dedicate time making it.

When I get down to drawing my pictures, I'm just picturing how I want it to flow well with the script. I think of ways of adding small nuances to make it more entertaining, but never go out of my way to do something extremely crazy and time-wasting. Then editing and uploading is all the same process.
