YouTube suggests an image which is 800 x 800 pixels, it will scale it down anyway if its bigger. Aslong as its a square really is what I go by

I use 1280x720, if I save them in 1920x1080 the files get too big cause I save in PNG >.<

The best size to use would be 1280 by 720 pixels. Hope this helps.

1920 x 1080. For a complete fullscreen. If you wanna maintain the size ratio, and if you make your thumbnails in Photoshop, you can resize it to make it smaller with Ctrl + T while holding onto shift. This way, you won't end up with some black lines at the sides.

it is recommended 800x800 but I find that 1920x1080 is far better as it looks much better in quality
