What editing software do you use?

Obviously, when you first start out on YouTube, you don't want to be going out there and spending £100's on editing software, first of all you don't know how to use it, and second of all you don't know whether it's worth you buying it, as nothing may come of your YouTube account.

However, I was wondering, are there any editing software out there which are affordable, but also are worth putting that money into!?

What software do you use to edit your videos?

P.S. I currently use Movie Maker (I know it's not glamorous, but it gets the job done)

Thanks

My friend had bought Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate, honestly it's what I've been using since the day I started YouTube.
Back then I didn't mess around and look into the settings, but nowadays I explore and use it to the best of its abilities.

If you get an older version, or buy the disks off someone it could be good for starting out.

When I first started back in like 2008 I used to make really bad lyric videos (mostly to Nickleback, 13 year old me was obsessed okay..) but as I started to become more into editing I begun using Sony Vegas Pro/Movie Studio. It's a little pricey but my dad already had it because he used to edit DVDs for his friends. It's my favourite software I've used and it's so easy to use and produces great results

What's the difference between the Pro and the Movie Studio, i'm guessing the Pro version has more that you can do with it?

I am using Hitfilm 2 :) They gave it away for free at some point, and it is quite powerful :D Before that I used VideoPad - it was better than Windows Movie Maker and most free software I could find and it was cheap :) But I would never go back to it..

Honestly, I haven't found much difference other than some tools are used differently and in different places. My only gripe I had when I first used movie studio was that the cookie cutter tool (a tool I use reguarly) was in a different place and harder to use but I've overcome it now so its great

Awesome, if I just used Movie Studio to start with, I wouldn't have that problem, because I would be used to neither haha!

Exactly, I've always used it. I used Adobe Premier a few times too but that's quite challenging but Sony Vegas I find best
