What editing software do you guys use?

So far I've been using Movavi, it's pretty simple, straight forward & gets the work done. But last night I got Sony Vegas, I haven't tried it yet... it looks intimidating! I will try it out for my next video though since heaps of people have said that they use this program & it's good

Sony Vegas Pro 12 alough i was gonna upgrade to Final Cut Pro... but i like what im getting from sony good editing software and a brilliant finish on your videos :) loads of fx and stuff too not that i use most of them...

When I used PC I started out on windows movie maker and was able to due most basic cuts and etc... then dabbled with sony vegas 12, a much more powerful program but would mess with my computer and create lag after awhile. Then this christmas my parents decided it was time to get me a editing rig aka an 27" iMac with Final cut pro x, the full cs6 suite with is premier pro, encore, photo shop etc.., and I do have after effects but I haven't subscribed yet, After about an hour of using both of these programs premier pro and final cut pro x I found they both are VERY VERY powerful and can do almost anything I need but can be a bit difficult at first and the learning curve can stump you for awhile, I prefer final cut pro because it is easier to get over PR but premier pro is a better program then final cut just takes a bit more to learn.

Disclamer all of these programs other then movie maker can be pricey, if mac look into iMovie then to do the trials for each program before buying.

Thanks for a great thread guys.

I am starting out and have been thinking about software.

I did a class on Premier 1.0 In college, and I figure that instead of learning a software, then, if things get serious, learning another software, I would just bite the bullet and go with premier. I probably only need 6-10 hours before I am proficient (I am a fast learner) so it seems like a worthwhile investment of time.

For the stuff you want to do on your videos, I would say that any of the Sony Vegas or Sony movie studio programs are a good start with areas you want to do with your videos hope this was helpful for you.
