First of all I should say my dad is a ship captain.

I informed my dad, I opened a YouTube channel and was explaining how can earn money from YouTube and suddenly my dad told me a good suggestion. :dance:


He told me that when he is at sea, he will bring his camera and take a video for me about everything he might think would be interesting. Like the angry sea moment, or how a big ship will go off to sea or how dolphins play around the ship and many other things.:wavespin:

Now I want to know, what do you think? Do you think people will like it? Should I open a new channel and name it the Captain's Life? :p
 
If he can record you enough footage to keep it going I dont see why not, a lot of people dont go on boats and would love to see what it is really like at sea.

Yeah, I think he can record as much as possible, because if even he don't get enough time, he can order his Sailor's to do it. ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1399879328,1399879260][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well, unfortunately i am so far away from my family, it's been around 6 years I am out for study. :(

Sorry to hear that. But to answer your question, I think there would be a big demand for videos like that and not a lot of competition. People are very passionate about boats, ships, travelling etc. On another forum I used to frequent, in the chillout forum one of the members did a video diary about his travels on his yacht and people loved it (even people who know nothing about boats.)

Hi can you make my post back to YouTube Chat, Gossip & Help because I really wants to get as much suggestion as possible, but i feel if my thread stay here I won't get much suggestion and help. :tongue:
 
This would definitely be a good idea. It's some original content, that not many channels show (if any). As it has been said a lot of people don't go out to sea or for that matter have ever seen the sea. So they might be interested in seeing some real footage instead of movie sea :)
 
I think that's a really interesting idea. Keep in mind that this would be a really niche area of YouTube, so you'd probably be getting some very good search rankings for things like "boat vlogs" and such, but you're probably going to have a fairly slow channel growth to start out.
