What do I do?

Ok so I've been reading some of these guides and a lot of them said to keep videos short 1-3 minutes. I do gameplay and such on my channel. I feel like I'm the gaming industry 1-3 minute videos are lazy content. 99% percent of them are cod news guides that take no effort to make. I want to do a mix of lets plays and cod zombies videos. But I don't know if I can grow from those.

Just do whatever you want.

Call of Duty is popular and if you like it just do it however you want.

I hate call of duty but I would guess that a normal video should not past the ten minute mark.

I also don't see how a call of duty video could be that funny honestly unless you are doing commentary over the video like big papa leafyishere

Don't worry too much about what "they" say about how long your videos should be, what you should concentrate one, etc. Make the videos that you'd stop and click on if you saw it on YouTube. Make videos that make you happy and that you can stay interested in making for a long time. I think some of the blandness that seems to be pervading YouTube is because everyone is trying to make their content everything that the experts say should be made, rather than the wonderful, crazy stuff that people may want to make.

I tried making short ones before in mine craft story mode and it garnered less views. So I made it up to 5 parts only or 4 parts and it gained more views. Maybe it depends on what kind of game you are uploading.. :)

My gaming videos are longer. Trying to make them under 3 minutes is just near impossible. Do what makes sense for your content!
