What am I doing wrong?

Right, so I've had my channel for quite a long time now and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere... I've tried various promotion methods and I always put a lot into each video, (nowadays they struggle to even get 20 views). I've had people say to me that I deserve more subs, yet all I seem to do is lose them :L Someone that I know also began a YouTube channel, much more recently than me, they only have a few videos, but have over twice the amount of subs as me. So, I was just wondering what I'm doing wrong/ not doing that's causing this because I love video making and I wish to carry on! Thanks! :)

I think you are doing ok. Your newer videos have less views, so do mine actually maybe its a slow month, probably a coincidence. Maybe the videos will catchup over time.

I looked at your oldest videos, I am assuming that the one that is two months old is your oldest because that's as far back as the page would let me go, and I dont see much change between the first and last, its not like you are suddenly doing lots of stuff differently.

So yeah, it'll probably be alright next month, you are quite funny and I guess what you're saying is relatable for the young folk, I think it's just that you haven't been lucky this month, it won't always be ups, there'll be downs too.

I see you have a few videos that are a lot more successful than the others but i think thats down to the fact that "tumblr" and "oli sikes," whoever that is, is going to be searched for a lot more than "oxford" or "motivation"

Hope this helps

I clicked on your channel link expecting to see some atrocious videos, but was actually quite impressed in the end. I don't think you are doing anything wrong - instead I recommend having a bit of patience until your channel takes off, because it hasn't been around for very long yet. Your camera presence is fine, your editing is fine as well, and you seem confident enough to make your project work. Maybe try using a couple of special effects every now and then to spice things up.

In the end I actually subscribed to see where your channel is headed - and I very rarely do this with non-gaming, non-atheist, non-news channels. :)

Your videos are good the only thing i can think of is that your tags are not as good as they can be and you dont have very many of them. But keep up the good work

Thanks everybody for the support and advice, it was really good of you! I'll take it on board and definitely be a bit more patient haha :)

I think waiting is just the best thing to do. From what I've watched your videos are really good and you've gained a subscriber in me :D

Hi Abi,

Lets be honest, YouTube is hard, a very hard playing field with loads of people in it. I think you are doing good, maybe look at your videos, see which ones are getting the most views and in some way use them as a guide to what know what people watch the most. Maybe do some different, it may seem daunting at first, but you never know it until you try it.

I think your channel is interesting and I've subbed you to see how you get on in the future (not out of sympathy or anything)

Hope this helps :)
