BitzComms

Well-Known Member
Hi, this is VirtuaroidPilot, and I'm tired of editing my own videos! If I want to start uploading more videos AND have more time for my personal life, I need someone to help me edit them.

Benefits include the ability to be in our videos and a special intro video introducing you to the BitzComms audience!

Here's what you need in order to apply! (there is only one position)

* Decent Editing Software - Windows Movie Maker is okay... I use it currently, but it is very limited to what you can do with it, so it might be best if you had something else.

* A Sense of Humor - Good editors have to have a good sense of humor when editing, such as when speeding up footage (It helps to put funny music in the background when speeding footage up... I recommend either Yakkety Sax or Ren and Stimpy Production Music) and when putting text on the screen. It also helps if you can spot the funniest parts of our recordings and make sure that they definitely make the cut in the finished product.

* Good Grammar - Nobody wants to watch a video when there's text in it that looks like a five-year-old wrote it! Make sure you brush up on your grammar!

* Must be 18 or Older - Or at least have a mature (adult/teen) sounding voice... That is the only exception. (this comes into play if you want to be in our videos)

We are not a YouTube partner, so this will be an unpaid position. We assure you that there are other benefits, and in case you didn't catch them at the start of this post, we will list them here:

* You can be in our videos if you like. There is nothing stopping you from doing so.

* We will make a special introductory video over Skype when you are on board, introducing you to the audience and explaining what you are going to do for the channel and for them.

How it will work:

1. We will upload videos to be edited to a special playlist on the main channel, which you get to name.

2. You can use software such as YouTube Downloader (which is free) to download the videos to be edited (we try to keep the file size as small as possible when we record videos).

3. You will edit the video(s) as you see fit.

4. You then will upload the finished video(s) to the playlist specified in the description of said video(s) in the Videos to be Edited playlist (or whatever you named it)

5. You will then notify us of the edited videos, and we will check them out and enjoy the fruits of your labor, and if you like, we can suggest ways you can make future videos better, if needed.

6. We will delete the unedited versions of the videos from the "To Be Edited" playlist, and either upload more, or upload more at a later time. (We will try to limit it to two new videos at a time, so as not to stress you.)

And that's all the info we have to give. Again, we only have one position, so if you're interested, contact me on Skype. My Skype name is "segastar21" and I appear as VirtuaroidPilot.

Thank you for your cooperation, and have a nice day!

I'm not too sure on this, but I think finding an editor is against the rules. I know offering to edit videos is at least.

If you read the post, you would know that this is an unpaid position, BUT there are benefits, which are specified in two places in the post.

Again, I will try to upload two videos at a time to the "To Be Edited" playlist. I generally don't upload too terribly often, I try to release two videos a week, but I haven't uploaded anything for the past few weeks, mainly because my co-commentators weren't available. Not all of our videos need to be edited; Post-Commentaries from raw gaming footage generally don't need any outside help editing, as all I do for those is sync the commentary audio tracks. However the longer (20-30 minutes or more) live commentaries (commentaries recorded WHILE playing a game) Will need some editing work done, so as to edit out the boring parts and keep in the funny parts. These will mostly be Gmod videos and the like. I may occasionally do a live let's play by myself, which could benefit from a bit of editing. Generally, once we get an editor, more videos will be made. I can offer assistance if needed.

Also, once we get someone on board, we will give manager privileges to him or her so that they can upload the edited videos. Sending the edited videos to us directly will take too long, so that's why you'll need manager privileges, so as long as you are responsible and mature, you can keep working with us.

Again, this is an unpaid position (don't worry, we don't make money off of our videos either) BUT there are other benefits, and you'll find them in the first post.

By assist you, I didn't mean editing YOUR videos. What I meant was if you need me to, I can provide images / sound for use while editing my videos, for example, or I may provide input for how the video should play out.

I could also watch while you edit (using skype screen share) if you like, and provide my input.

But I'll still leave most of the creative decisions to you, because you're most likely more experienced than I am.

I have already established that I don't like editing the videos myself. If I had better editing software, it would be more fun for me to edit them, but I still would kinda suck at it. You wouldn't want me editing your videos, anyway. I suck at editing. Plus, I use Windows Movie Maker... Who wants that in their videos?

I'm a bit of a cheapskate too - I refuse to buy expensive equipment or editing tools.

That is probably why I don't have more than 18 subscribers. That, and I don't play the most popular games. I usually play the more obscure ones, because I like anything retro and under-appreciated.

What I'm looking for in an editor is pretty much the BitzComms equivalent of Barry from Game Grumps... You know, the guy who edits their videos and appears in them from time to time? Only with BitzComms, you can be in more of the videos if you like, AND you get an introductory video that introduces you to the BitzComms audience.

We never actually meet up in real life though, unlike Game Grumps. Everything at BitzComms is done over skype.
