Watermarks or Annotations?

What do you guys think?

If you want someone to subscribe to your channel, do you use the watermark (your channel icon and when they mouse over it it expands and has a subscribe button and says how many people have already subscribed) or do you use a spotlight annotation over the word subscribe? Pros and cons? Personal experiences or preferences? I want to hear them all! :)

Why not use both? :D I dont see the downsides of using both.

I guess it might seem a bit pestering. But if you had the watermark for say, the first 10 seconds. And a sub button at the end with an annotaion, or even just asked them to sub, I mean there's a button there's a button already on the page.

We use both, the in-video CTA (watermark) at the beginning, and an animated Sub button in our end bumpers.
