Volume on videos

I've Got It
Just a quick question, at what decibel level do you have your voice in your videos? Mine always seems to be a bit quiet, the obvious solution would be just raising the volume, but I am just looking for a reference as to the "proper" volume level for a "hosts" voice.

I have the same question as you. I'm watching this thread in hopes to get enlightened. XD
It is next on my long list of things to know for youtube, Though I assume it is as loud as possible without any clipping of the audio. Leave it up to the viewers to turn their own volume down?

I have some that doesn't mind my volume(never even mentioned it) while some that never subscribed to me said my volume is too quiet. The problem here is that when I edit, it sounds loud enough for me lol

My average on Sony Vegas looks like this:

I do this on the same but i bring the setting on the left up to about 4.0 and no-one so far has complained about my audio

Your vids have always sounded perfect Wasabi, and that's watching them on the laptop and phone. Some people have nothing better to do than complain or maybe they need to get their hearing checked!! :giggle:

Eh? I had to change that every now and again because I don't have a specific place to record until recently. The volume kept changing every new recordings haha~ Thank you for the answer tho ^^

X3 Glad to know~ Yea, they probably like watching/listening to loud lets plays while wearing headphones so when they come to my video it just sounds so...so soft haha

this can be quite annoying though, say I am watching on a phone and the valume is awkward, or I am watchingon the laptop while the family does a jigsaw and boom there is a lout intro and talking. It can be quite jarring so as loud as possible without clippingmight be a bad idea. Idk

I just let my camera choose for me. seems to have worked so far.

The volume of my videos depends on my audio meter:

Any audio is okay as long as the meter doesn't show a red bar at the top because that's too loud.
