Viewers > Subscribers?

I care about views more than Subs because as a viewer myself, I don't have the habit to sub but I will go back to that youtube channel again if it is a interesting content

I'd say comments. It's nice when people actually take the time to say something positive and start a conversation. But again I suppose it depends what you want out of YT.

It's a combination of viewer to subscriber ratio. If you have 1000 subs you shouldn't be getting 20 views per vid. For me ~1000-2000 views a vid is good. But if I had to pick, views would be more important. The more views you have then the more exposure you're getting which could turn into potential, loyal subs.

At the moment I look at subscribers purely because I'd love to work towards at least getting the silver play button, although i know that may be years away

I personally look at the view count as this is what determines the ratings and does lead to creating a fan base. It takes time to gain subscribers as nowadays, it's more common for people to go on YouTube and upload gaming footage etc so it's harder to get noticed unlike say 4 years ago, hardly anyone posted things online and they became big hits as they were the first ones to do such a thing :) just have patience !!!

I agree with you but looking at the subs also shows at least a good chance of how many people will watch the videos anyway.

And that starting out on Youtube for a gaming channel is so difficult nowadays, as you said, due to oversaturation of the genre. But if you keep pushing through you might get into the big leagues, who knows what's gonna be popular these days.

Exactly, sometimes it only takes one video that stands out, either it's something really humorous, or just really interesting... We're all human and we all have different interests :) i enjoy YouTube and gives me something to do when I finish work for the rest of the evening. Obviously not the best pay at the moment but I've only started a few months ago so who knows what will Happen. I know nothing will come off it, but it's nice to believe that other people are enjoying my videos :)

Views per video is far more important. There are channels with 50,000+ subscribers that barely get 1000 views per video.

Yep, this is what I pay attention to.

Right now I average about 1700 views per video. I want to try to get to the point where I get 5,000 per video.

I agree, the comments are important, but I've found that subscribers tend to leave comments more often. So it you interesting in creating a community then subscribers who leave comments are what you're after. I love starting a conversation with mine. As my subscriber count has grown so has the number of views my videos have been getting.

Each person is different and each channel is different. No two situations will be the same!
