Video Quality. Yay or Nay.

I've Got It
So I'm considering investing in a "Big Kid Camera"... New lens, camera, everything. However, I'm wondering whether it's worth it or not. If someone could take a look at some my recent videos (within the last two months at least cause I updated my lighting) and tell me if they think I need to upgrade or not?

I'm not a large channel so I don't want to invest if it's not necessary right now. I know quality over quantity. But if my quality isn't that bad then maybe I'll wait till black friday to upgrade.

I'd definitely say it was worth going for a better camera. Your sound quality's absolutely fine and your lighting's on point, so really the only thing that's letting the side down is the video quality. I wouldn't say it was an absolute essential though, if you can't afford it right now I think it'd be a better choice to wait until you can. Your image quality now is by no means an absolute deal breaker, just something to work on.

Well I would definitely say your videos surpass "not that bad", the quality on your videos didn't bother me at all! As you said, it can absolutely be better, and investing in a camera at some point with higher quality would be a smart decision, but I can't imagine waiting would hurt your channel in any way, since your video is still easy to watch and enjoyable.

Thank you guys for your opinion! Honestly the only thing stopping me is investing in something that I don't get use out of because I'm not the most knowledgable about cameras. Everything I know is from YouTube tutorials and my boyfriend whose a photographer. But I will consider it more :) Thanks again.

I think your videos look fine. Lighting is good (something I lacked at the moment). It's definitely worth investing in a dslr. I use a canon 650d with a standard kit lense plus a 50mm lense for close ups of food and pictures. I recently discovered that the camera can shoot in 50fps which is good as I can get some half decent slow motion shots too. It also has a flip lcd screen so I can see myself whilst filming to get a good angle. There's newer models now of course but to be honest the 650d or 700d are ample, and upgrading to the 750d isn't justifiable in my opinion.

First off I would like to say that you seem quite comfortable infront of the camera. No matter how good the quality is thats quite important to be before you improve the gear. Second off I wouldn't say its absolutely nessesary with better quality. Because you come off as a person people would like because of who you are, not nessesairly the quality of the image. However that being said better quality will never do any damage and obviously helps you come off "more proffesional".

Wow! Thank you so much! I feel like I am so awkward in front of the camera still. I have improved a lot since uploading my first video, but I still cringe sometimes while editing. So that is a huge boost to my confidence. I truly appreciate it.

I will definitely consider upgrading my camera though. Thank you everyone for your advice.

Tech is not that important as most people think. I believe content is really king. Technology is always going to grow, you don't need the next best thing. People drive cars till the wheels fall off lol. People usually don't have to switch technology until the companies no longer provide support and even then people don't switch till it breaks lol. What i'm saying here is that people use whatever gets the job done. Good luck.

i liked the 13 reasons to love your self. i think the video was great and u don't seem to be shy in front of the camera witch is a plus. also what ever camera gear your using looks good. i dont think you should by more gear. no a days your iphone is good enough to make vlogs. have a nice day and keep loving yourself

I got a question is your camera on auto focus, cus it blurs you out every now and then. Other than that, i like the style of videos its pretty clean and well put together, now you just wait for your audience to gather i guess.
Best of luck!
