Video Length & Revenue

It doesn't really matter youtube sets different adds that best suit the video if a video is short or long it won't matter because it will always get the best ad that suits it. I know a channel thta uploads clips and his cpm/RPM is rather high I also know a channel that uploads 1 hour long videos and has a high cpm/rpm, oh and by the way I'm talking as in more than $10 per thousand views for both of the channels I talked about in this comment.

@Parcel I know there is a lot of truth to your comment. I also went through about 15 of my videos, just a quick check, and the videos that were 7 minutes or long had an ad and the shorter videos just had a banner ad.[DOUBLEPOST=1398985068,1398984775][/DOUBLEPOST]
If your retention is OK, then I see no reason to create shorter videos.

I would like to create a branded segment that is meant for quicker consumption. Mor fun, more action, less talking =)

7 minutes? I was actually talking about clips such as 30 seconds to a minute long lol but thanks Mark.

I was doing the test with 7 minute videos but like you mentioned, ads will still show for viewers if the video is shorter. My target video length is in the 3-4 minute range. As long as an ad is presented a reasonable amount of times, I will be happy. Banner ads are not enough to wet my beak =)

Got it.

10 minute plus videos also get ads in the middle but thats only for partners with networks.

Being able to have mid-rolls is a benefit earned from YouTube, not a network. You do not have to be a partner with a network in order to have mid-rolls.

I dont know what everyone is saying but lenght of vido does in fact matter in the effect of your earnings and CPM which is earnings. Longer the video the higher ads you get like 30 second ads. 10 minute plus videos also get ads in the middle but thats only for partners with networks.

Waaaaay off, please don't post something you know nothing of.Thank you.
