Hi guys,

I would appreciate a bit of advice or a few tips on how to really go about your first commentary ever. What do you remember from your very first one and what are the do's and dont's really?

Thanks in advance :)

Moved this to the Script, Script Writing, Video Ideas & Planning section of the forum for you :)
I don't watch a lot of game play.....but some advice I can give is to try not to have too many "uuums....and aaaahhhs" in there. You might want to write out what you're going to talk about in advance, look it over so that you don't forget sort of thing :)

If this is your first gaming commentary, kind of introduce yourself and let your viewers know what you will be doing. Then you can either narrate the gameplay or talk about upcoming games. Something like that.

Believe in yourself, pratice with a few notes before hand and most importantly have fun with it. Be relaxed about it introduce your channel, say what it is about and what they can exepect from your videos :)

The only advice I can offer is just go for it. If you plan on informing the viewer about certain things then make a few notes but if you're recording your reactions an intro and outro is all you really need to think about.

You learn a lot about how you can improve when you come to edit your videos, you notice (probably more than anyone) the annoying things you may do but also the things you do right.

I've said it before to another forum member, the first person to see it will be you so if it sucks then that's as far as it will go.

The things I remember from my first commentary was that I had no clue what I was going to say but I figured I'd go with it. You just need to speak your mind, let the viewer know your thoughts, what your strategy for the game is, what you like/don't like about the game and why.

Just go for it man :)
