Vegas VS. Premiere?

Hey everyone. I've been using Adobe Products (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) for a long time, and I'm really happy with the way they all preform. But I am curious as to what people think of Sony Vegas, and how it matches up. If you have an opinion, please share it with me.

I started with Sony Vegas and later tried Adobe Premiere thinking it would be just as easy to use but I was wrong. Everything takes way longer to do with Premiere for me (different hotkeys, more steps) and Vegas is a lot easier, quicker, and more beginner-friendly doing the exact same things. However, if you're experience with Premiere, then it should be no problem for you and they are both about the same in quality in the end, I just prefer Vegas because I think it is way easier to use. If you are planning to do video making/editing related stuff as a profession, you should stick with Adobe Premiere because almost every video editing job I've looked at requires knowledge in Premiere and not Vegas.

I've only used Vegas, and I have no complaints. I can do just about anything I would want to do with it, and nothing has been overly complicated up until this point. I'd recommend it.

I use Vegas as well, the only issue I have with it is the video preview lag when trying to edit. Then theres pre render, but I dont have the time to let it pre render. I wanna sit down an start editing the moment I transfer my videos.

But, It is quite easy to work with. Just a week or 2 ago, I got so fed up with the video lag that I decided to purchase the Power Director Deluxe 14 an well, It is a tad bit more complicated to use because of hotkeys. I'll try PD some other time.

Maybe your computer isn't powerful enough to preview the videos at the quality you're editing in (I'm guessing 1080p). Not necessarily Vega's fault. I have the same problem, but it's fine if I set the preview window to "Draft - Full." Preview looks worse but it removes the lag.

I use Vegas simply because I've been using it for years! It works well for me though and I don't really fancy switching just to try Adobe out :')

My specs are really not that bad at all really, I edit with it at "Draft - Auto." I can edit just fine with PD at full 1080p with no lag. So i do kind of blame Vegas as It being a common issue.

Honestly as a hardcore sony vegas user.
I recently switched to premiere and im not going back. Sony vegas is a basic quick learning program for quick edits, one thing i did realise was. Premiere is harder to start and it takes longer to get used to it. But once you learn the basics, effects are a lot easier and simpler to do than in vegas.

So if you want vids like pewdiepies use premiere. If you just do simple lets olays then it doesnt really matter. Check the video in my signature for a view into a novices editing on premiere.
Take note i just started on premiere but it is my preffered video editing software now.

For me it's most definitely Premiere Pro that I use because I found it better to use and because of it's close integration with After Effects (and the rest of the Creative Cloud Suite). On pretty much all of my Premiere Pro projects there is an After Effects composition. I tried out Sony Vegas a while ago and I really don't remember finding it any better, although I did use it a while ago.
