usually only 10%-30% subscribers watch videos?

I find that it really depends on the topic the video is about and how often a video is shared. Sometimes if you encourage people on social networks to share stuff, your viewership will rise a bit more, but if you just rely on having subs watch in their subscriptions, you won't get quite as many viewers.

I also find that animations tend to do a lot better on youtube as far as the sub/view ratio goes. Animations are a lot more appealing than gameplay or vlogs. Almost all of the animators I follow reach the amount of views equal to their sub count within a day.

I think the views are also not immediate. A lot of channels seem to gain them in a bit of time. My view are at about 25% and I don't have a lot of subscribers but I have a lot of videos. My views increase over the weekend I'm guessing when people have the time to catch up.

I don't really watch vloggers, vloggers and gamers seem to have a generally low view to subscriber ratio for some reason, it might have to do with how easily the content is produced but who knows
Well those 2 YouTubers are prankers.. Those kind of videos get shared quite often, therefor leaving a good ratio.

I wouldn't say vloggers or gamers don't have a good ratio because the content is easy to make, but it's more because their content doesn't get shared as often. More people enjoy pranks over vlogs/games, even those who don't watch youtube regularly, so they can be shared on social media and get a tun on views easily.

This is an unfair thing to say, the amount of time I spend editing my video's is sometimes ridiculous. There's lots of cutting to do and making sure it's all working well.

I make over 500 cuts in each of my videos and condense videos down from 3+hours of footage into 2-5 mins of video. Even I know my videos are easy content to make in comparison to what theirs takes.[DOUBLEPOST=1393262161,1393261950][/DOUBLEPOST]

So the pranks which are harder to make and are much more time consuming will be more successful ?

The reason pranks get views like that is because of the fact that they go out and do them things, the audience watching doesn't experience that on an everyday basis. I'm pretty sure that whole audience could talk to a camera though

It has nothing to do with how easy or difficult a video is, it's the fact that pranks get shared on social media way more than vlogs or gaming.

I'm always seeing pranks on Facebook. Even ones that are super easy to make, and only took like 5 min to record/prep.

Even though people always say "10-30% is normal" and then bat it off with a smile, I always think "What is the point of subbing if you don't watch the damn videos?" because that 10-30% ratio isn't for the odd video, it's for all videos. It's not like the inactive subs take turns with other subs to be inactive as if it's a career. If things were logical, I'd say 50% of subs should watch the video.

I am a vlogger or at least I think I am (travel vlogger)
what it takes for me to make a vlog :
- travel somewhere with all lights camera etc - i use hotel lightbulbs and set it up in rooms to make the narration (time consuming and lots of work)
I go sightseeing and shoot for a week or less but a lot
I edit my video for about a week combigning shots of the city plus my narration - some titles - color correction and i add music etc and so on average it takes me about two weeks in total to make a vlog and lots of work in front of camera computer
so I don't think vlogger is easy content to make - unless am not a vlogger?

but is very insightful that vloggers content is not shared that much - I never thought of that but it must be true- people just watch once and go to next video. Pranksters get a much better ratio!

I have close to 700 subscribers, but struggle to gather 20 views on my videos. It really sucks but as long as those 20 people enjoy the video, im happy enough
