Using your name as channel?

what do you guys think of using your own name as a channel?

Long story short. I came up with a fantastic channel name that has nothing to do with my name. This channel name i came up with fits my niche and it's easy to remember. Problem is this channel name is already taken.

So i don't know what to do.

My first name is not very common name. When i searched for my first name on youtube. It shows no one has it yet. So i have the opportunity to grab a channel with just my first name. example. "Madonna"

What do you guys think of this? if your first name was still available as a channel name. would you use just your first name?

I use my own name as my channel name! I think it's awesome! I would love it even more if it was just my first name, would look so cool! But maybe if you are basing your channel around something e.g. football you should have a football related channel name? Mine works because I do a mixture of everything and don't make specific videos about 1 specific thing
 
You put yourself at a lot of risk using your real name anywhere on youtube, its only really good if your big enough that people will find out anyway so id avoid it till then
 
I say just go with your first name. If I could, I'd totally claim that if "Hailey" wasn't so common haha. Then again, what is your niche? Personalized channel names work great with vlog channels, but if it's something different then you might have better options.
 
I have my first name there but I really hadn't planned on it. I just have my regular gmail linked up to it so I can't really change my name on my YouTube channel without changing my name one my Gmail account which I'm actually thinking about doing because I rather not have my full name out there. ._.

If you change it in google plus that will do it
 
I thing it's a good idea to use your name as channel name...my channel is also in my name & I thing it's awesome...cause no hard work needed for finding a great name :D:D:D
 
I use my real name because I'm a composer. Well, at least I think I am haha.
Also I have a strange name so it's pretty easy for people to find me if they know my name :).
