USB not recognised :(

Not sure if this should go here, but here goes:

My Elgato used to work perfectly but all of a sudden, when I plugged the USB lead into my laptop, It keeps coming up with 'USB not recognised' so I was just wondering if anyone's experienced this problem and if it can be fixed or if It's just the wire?

I think it might just be there wire because the picture still comes on the screen but it doesn't relay onto the game capture itself so yeah, if anyone could help, you'd be a life saver!

Try another computer. If it works you may need to reinstall the USB driver on your computer.
Uninstall the USB driver in Device Manager. Restart the computer and it should pick it up as new hardware and reinstall automatically.

I suspect it may be a driver error. This usually happens if your PC goes through system updates. If changing the USB does not work try doing a system restore to an earlier date before the system update took place.
