Uploading videos as private then making public

If you upload a private video, your YouTube video Manager will show the date the video was uploaded. If you release the video a month later, to the public it will show the day of release.

Nothing to worry about. Upload them, stock them, release them later.

Sure thing, just keep in mind that the YouTube Video Manager will always show the upload date, and that will never change. You'll have to visit your videos to see the date you published it, or use Social Blade to find out.

Yeah neither have I. Just going to be helpful to have videos stocked up in advance, especially when school gets busy.

I believe if it's private you're the only one who can watch it. If you set it to unlisted, anyone with the URL can watch.

I always upload private, let the video monetize and then put it public after it does. I don't really care about the first 24 hours. If you upload and put public right away you are shooting yourself in the foot. The views you get whilst not monetized (and still processing) do not generate money, nor does it show the best quality as an option, which could lead the uninformed to believe all your videos have been shot in 360p... or worse... 240p!

Videos are new when they are published to public not uploaded to private. Unlisted is considered public so don't use that.
