Yeah, but probably not everyone who follows you does this, plus if they do it does help you to get put on the unimportant-people-how-just-spam-me-list-list that no one ever looks at...

If you wanna use it for promotional purposes you want followers who look at your tweets and not ones who follow4follow and don't give to many crabs about you. Those either don't look at your tweets, or don't click, or watch your video only for a few seconds hurting your audience retention. You're just choosing quantity over quality...

Maybe, but it still helps me to gain a little exposure which is more important for me currently.
 
Damn man, I'm almost at 10,000 subs but I only have about 150 followers on my main account, I don't really push my Twitter though, it's only in my descriptions. How did you get so much followers?

as i mentioned before i just follow people related to my interests and like half of them follows back. then just unfollow who didnt follow back. but damn 10k subs... forget twitter your good :D
 
I only have 1,3000 followers but a good number are spam bots and random half naked women for some reason. but yeah Twitter is a good networking tool :)
