Tricks that compel clicks?

i had a good discussion with someone who suggested I update my thumbnails. I'm always happy to receive constructive helpful criticism. The person who told me this works on a channel and is duty is just the artwork! So it was interesting to hear things from someone who only focuses on that one thing.

He gave me examples of things that worked and let me figure out what works for me.

Does anyone here have good pointers that help people subconsciously click on your video? Of course things like clear photo and legible text aside. Does anyone know of evidence where certain color schemes, fonts, words or images will entice people to try out a video over others?

I think there is only one thumbnail that attracts lots of male and even female, hot girls if it is not related to your video then it does not really matter what colors you use, because all people are different and if someone likes pink there will be poeple who love green color.

Make sure use use soft tones that pleasant to your eyes.

I think what I look at in other videos is that it's fun, expresses the creators personality, that any text is readable (I hate it when a part of text is covered by the time mark on the bottom right corner), and that it's pleasant to look at, a.k.a. not too much going on, to the point when you don't know what to look at. Some people like bold colours, some people like soft colours and a minimalistic look, it differs from a creator to creator.

When I create thumbnails, I stick to the same kind of pattern or look (and if I ever change that, I'll be updating all my older thumbnails, up to the very first video I made) so that it looks consistent, that it looks appealing to me and somehow expresses my personality.

In the end, when you're very popular your subscribers won't care if you even have a customised thumbnail or not, but in the beginning I feel like it helps.

It's true! Ain't nobody wanting to look at my ugly a**!! I'll never click on something with a girl in the thumbnail. I mean why? They won't miss my one view out of the 800 million they get from all the others
