Let's not forget that massive amounts of hate will lower your own morale and therefore affect the quality and frequency of your own videos possibly :/

I agree with you that covering drama on your channel is a bad idea. Like you said, you talk about political libertarian things not drama. It would give you the wrong audience as they would not listen to the content you want to make. Also there is no point in making a drama channel, especially in 2016. You already have Philly D, KEEMSTAR, and Scarce, there's no point in having another. Many have tried and they have not succeeded.

Now, being involved in drama is different. Being involved could help you a lot. The question I guess is, "is it right/moral to do so?" That's for you to decide if it's worth it or not. Drama has helped a lot of channels and even ironically the drama channels. Scarce was half the size of KEEMSTAR earlier this year, now he is double his size at nearly 3 million subscribers due to drama. A lot of the time, drama cannot be avoided. Now you have the option of taking advantage of the situation or not. You can instigate the situation for your own benefit or let it go and build up your audience another way. But it could turn out bad if you decide to instigate the situation since he is a large channel that could have his fan-base destroy your channel.

So yeah, I'm basically saying is the drama worth it, hope this helps haha :bounce:

Youtube drama - a thematic vertical I never knew existed.
I wonder, do kids/toys channels have drama?? Or is it only confined to some types of categories?

some drama can be good, im glad youtubers report on things so I am informed about who i am subscribed to, and if there is something very seriously illegal or shady going on I can have the facts given to me easily.

But with drama comes a lot of heresay, lies, slander, and harmful speech.
if you are covering the facts and giving your honest opinion then go for it.
if you are picking a relevant topic and repeating what others already said - don't bother.

and if you want to hop on the bandwagon, then make it entertaining.
alphaomegasin has some of the funniest insults and reactions to news ive ever seen, but he always targets big corporations and figures rather than small channels (like leafyishere does).

Personally I would avoid it because on my channel I don't want to attract rude, aggressive and mean people. I want to keep my little space friendly and enjoyable because I hate going to through other people's comments and see hate being thrown around so I avoid the section and I don't want to have the same thing happen to me

Well it is possible for any channel to have drama, I've seen even tech channels get into drama. "Drama" doesn't necessary have to mean things like high school type drama. For example Unbox Therapy got into some drama because he got exposed for fake giveaways.

I think any drama related to YouTube has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I know there are a lot of young people on the platform, and the younger you are, the more inclined you are to drama and hissy fits over the smallest slights, but when I see grown adults breathlessly recounting tiny insults to one another, or reporting on beefs other people have with still other people, it makes me weep for all the lost brain cells in the world.

You're going to need a bucket for all those tears in a few days time if you know who wins....
