to avoid clutter

so I was wondering is it best to have separate channels for every subject you wish to cover? for example have one channel for gaming and another for vlogging. this way to prevent having a cluttered channel.

Good question.

I guess it would depend on how much you're going to be doing each subject. Say if you're only going to be vlogging once every couple of weeks, I think it's fine to have it on the same channel as, let's say, your gaming content.

But if each subject is going to be covered more frequently, I think then it's time to create a separate channel.

good advice I think what I will do is keep this channel for my main passion gaming and then reupload any none gaming onto my secondary channel thank you so much for helping me decide you really helped me:)

I think I am one of the only people who use youtube who has a clutter but uses schedules so people know what I upload each week ... derp xD

I think this more so helps out with people who already have a large subscriber base. Since then they can have the subs that prefer certain content move to their specific channels for said content. I.E. I think Tobuscus has a specific gaming channel and then his channel for other assorted things.

EDIT: But I don't think he separated them until he had a good following first

I think vlogging is ok with any other type of channel so long as the other type of video is still the main theme of the channel. The vlog allows the viewers to get to know the creator a buit more. A weekly vlog on a gaming channel that uploads daily gaming videos for example is good and I think those videos should stay on the channel and not separated.

Don't forget you can use playlists too to organise your content.

I have many covered topics on my channel, but I like it that way. Everything is organised in Playlists, so there are no problems for viewers to watch what they are interested in.
