Thoughts On The Smosh Gaming Alliance?

So apparently Smosh has just started their gaming network called "Smosh Gaming Alliance" last Wednesday. I was wondering if anyone here is partnered with them or has any thoughts on joining them. I just looked through the contract and I found a few things.

Requirements: Pretty much anybody can join
It is part of AlloyDigital?
Contract Length: 1 year
Payment: 70% of the money Youtube sends them for ads displayed on your channel(s) goes in your wallet
You get payed within 15 days at the end of each calendar month. If what you earned for the month is less than $100 they will keep it until you have earned at least $100 or the end of the 1 year (whichever comes first)

Also, once a week SmoshGames will have a featured Smosh Games Alliance Partners Spotlight video, where you can send your video submission in and they might accept it and display it as a great video and get you free subs and views or if its a really cruddy video they will make fun of you in front of millions.

It's basicly like RPM then but it's featured by famous YouTubers.

For a small YouTuber as I am I don't see anything wrong with it. It's not like I am earning money on this so the 70-30 doesnt bother me. If you are small I only se good things with being partnered with almost anything.

Sounds like awesomnesstv to me, not good. :/

Its the fact that if your a small channel, in that year you wouldn't make anything close to the $100, so you would sign up for 1 year, they take everything and you are left with nothing at the end. Plus they don't have any other decent benefits. It's all meh.

Its their exact reason, hence the no sub or view requirements. Its better for them that way that their partners will not reach the threshold within that year.

I don't see whats wrong with it though. As a new YouTuber I only se pros with being partnered. Or am I just to novice on this as well who doesnt se the cons of it?

Being partnered at such a small size doesn't benefit you in anyway. Most features that partnership offers now (custom banner etc.) are being removed due to OneChannel, also any other features like custom thumbnails can be received just by enabling monetization. You don't want to lock yourself in a bad network which doesn't benefit you, like this one or AwesomenessTV, they won't help you in anyway. Compared to if you are a larger channel lets say, which will more likely focus on you and offer you a better deal. ;)
