This doesn't make sense (RODE MIC)

I ordered the rode video mic pro but I can't work out if it comes automatically with the cable that connects to the DSLR or if I have to buy one separately?

Some mics dont have certain cables that are required for them work packed with them. My only suggestion is double to see if the cable was said to as a part of that package then they should send you the cable. If not you will have to a buy a cable for it.

The mic comes with the cable hard wired (you can't remove it). As long as your camera has a microphone input, it will work.

I believe you can since the macbook pro should have a combination audio port-you'll have to switch the settings to get it to work.
