They arrived! Weeeee!

Would it make it quicker if you recorded in high quality 480 but then resized the video to 720? Or would that just add loads more work?
it would be the same or more time to render.. because it has to convert the 480 to 720 so i think it would take more time..

This is true :( if you don't mind, what is your general computer spec? (if you know it) like HDD size, RAM, Processor etc? :) I am told that I have a really low spec computer so if yours is similar to mine I may be able to suggest something

My capture card and RAM both arrived within an hour of one another :D (not bad considering free delivery and neither were expected until around Tuesday next week!)

Given them both a whirl, both are perfect. RAM's installed, capture card is set up.... SO EXCITED! Hehehe. Now I just need to make a few test-run videos.

Squeeeeee :D can't wait to start making xbox videos!

I hope you used my video guide!! ;) lol

You're not much different from me then, really.

Mine is:

HDD: 350GB (makes no difference as to speed)
RAM: 8GB
Processor: 2.66Ghz
Graphics: 256MB Nvidia thingy

That surprises me that it takes so long!

could be the graphic card, the RAM or the little dif of the processor idk.. but yeah. 7 min video it takes from 3 to 4 hours -_-

Bear in mind rendering is mainly CPU intensive - the faster your CPU the quicker videos will render - your RAM and GPU don't have too much to do with rendering.

My example:
I create projects on my MacBook which is:
2.9GHz Dual Core i7
16GB RAM
512GB SSD
HD4000 GPU (512MB)

I render and upload the project on my Mac Mini Server:
2.6GHz Quad Core i7
8GB RAM
2x1TB HDD
HD4000 GPU (512MB)

Even though I have less RAM and slower drives in my server, it renders a LOT quicker - almost half the time since I have a quad core CPU rather then using the dual core CPU in my MacBook.

Rendering a 10min video (final 2.5GB file, full 1080p) on my MacBook may take 30-45 mins or so.
The same on my Server - lower specs but faster CPU because of the 2 extra cores - takes around 15-18 mins!

When rendering, always go for the fastest CPU.
