The First 100: What's It Like?

Well said, and something I'm glad to have read. I need to remind myself of this more often than I like to admit. I get so wrapped up on how long it has been since my last subscriber that I lose focus on the big picture. Need to start spending more time improving what I offer so that my current subscribers have a reason to stick around and any potential subscribers have more of a reason to do so.
I'm glad my post's mean a lot! , it's like I try my best and heck i've just recorded a vlog thankyou to my subscribers to upload tonight! just to show I apreciate every goal they help me make, and if we love what we do the views, comments, subscribers will come in there time! :)

I find that it is more difficult to reach your first 1 thousand subscribers. It's really bumpy at the beginning, but after you get a small following, it all becomes easier, and easier. You need to stay consistent though, or you'll lose a small amount of people who are considering subscribing.

Was curious about the path those of you who have passed 100 subs traveled to get there.
  • How long did it take?
  • Do you remember where those 100 subscribers came from and what efforts you made to help them find you?
  • What are your thoughts on the "first 100 are the hardest" philosophy?
  • And just so this doesn't come across as a complete survey... how did you feel when you hit 100?
And folks with less than 100 are welcome to join in with their own thoughts. Not looking to make this a promotional thread, but instead somewhere for us newbies to find some collected experience and inspiration from those who have been there.
I think 2 months on my old channel. yet to surpass on this channel :)

When I REALLY got into YouTube, I made a schedule of when I want to hit my first 100 subscribers. I started on September 1st and said "By October 15th, I want 100 subscribers."

Alas, I hit 100 subscribers on October 16th... :D

  • How long did it take?
  • - Around 3 months
  • Do you remember where those 100 subscribers came from and what efforts you made to help them find you?
  • - I must say our first 100 subscribers came from 2 NBA2K14 videos I made, and Minecraft cracked server video.
  • What are your thoughts on the "first 100 are the hardest" philosophy?
  • - Umm, I must say it's kinda very true but I think the first 100-1,000 are the hardest.
  • And just so this doesn't come across as a complete survey... how did you feel when you hit 100?
  • - I/We felt amazing, like we're on top of the world, but it got kinda harder to get to the 500 subscriber, which we're going to hit in a while! :)
